The Rothsay Tigers finished the 2022 season strong, ending up with a 6-4 record and scoring 200 points in their last 4 regular season games. They also hosted and won a playoff game on their home field. “All of our offensive weapons are returning, except the quarterback position,” stated third year Head Coach Joel Meyer. “Our offense should be very difficult to stop this season with a veteran offensive line. Filling the QB spot and the middle linebacker spot on defense will be critical to the success of our season.”
Returning Starters include seniors Matthew Danielson (WR/OLB), Carson Weiers (RB/DE), Conrad Stockinger (G/DT), Mark Carrillo (G/DT), Jaden Boots (RB/DE) and Peyton Kadel, juniors Preston Curtis, Landon Messerschmidt (WR/OLB) and Josh Honer, and sophomore Karson Jensen (RB/MLB). Danielson, Stockinger and Weiers will serve as team captains.
Sophomores Tristen Hofer, Dawson Leabo, Nathan Oien, Easton Kort, Loken Brant and Ethan Turchin are expected to step into varsity roles this fall.
Meyer will be assisted by Kyle Blanchard, Chris Heier, Brenden Fallen and Carlos Gutierrez. He sees Border West and Hancock as the top teams in the Section.
