Warriors Late Rally Fall Shorts in 6A Softball Loss to Browerville/Eagle Valley

The Browerville/Eagle Valley softball team overcame a 5-3 deficit by scoring 7 runs in the fifth inning and then held off a late inning rally by Wheaton/Herman-Norcross to eliminate the Warriors, 10-8, in the Section 6A tournament.  The Tigers then lost the championship game, 10-3, to Upsala.

Leaders for Wheaton/Herman-Norcross were Hadley Berger (2-4, 2B, HR, 2RBI, R), Addison Blume (1-3, 2B, 2RBI), Emily Drewicke (2-3, 2B, R), Makayla Bertram (1-3, BB, 2R) and Sadie Vipond (1-4, HR, RBI, R).  Five errors led to 6 unearned runs being scored by Browerville/Eagle Valley, as Anna Bright took the loss (6IP, 11H, 10R, 4ER, 3BB, 0K).

The Tigers also had a tough day in the field, committing 7 errors, which led to 5 unearned runs.  Chloe Lorentz (6IP, 8H, 8R, 3ER, 3BB, 5K) was the winning pitcher and Abby Marxer pitched a scoreless seventh inning, striking out one batter and allowing one hit.  Offensive leaders were Rhianna Buhl (3-3, RBI, R), Grace Lorentz (2-4, 2B, 2R), Anna Myers (1-3, 2B, RBI, 2R), Marxer (2-3, 2R) and Abby Wolbeck (1-3, RBI).
