The Eagles set the tone early in the first game, scoring six runs in the bottom of the first inning and never looking back.  “We knew that coming into this game we had to play almost perfect baseball to contend with the #1 seeded Eagles,” commented B-E Head Coach Brian Perleberg.  “Unfortunately, we made too many mistakes in that first inning and dug ourselves into a big hole right away.  It’s a tall task to try and rally against a team like New York Mills when their offense is hitting on all cylinders.  We have to tip our hat to them, they played polished baseball today.”

“We knew it would be difficult to bounce back after the loss to New York Mills, especially with the above average temperatures, but we competed pretty well through the first half of the game against the Panthers,” continued Coach Perleberg.  “Unfortunately, we missed some chances to score in the top of the fourth and Parkers capitalized on their opportunity in the bottom half of the fourth to take the lead and gain the momentum.  We just couldn’t string things together on offense and it’s hard to play from behind against solid defensive teams like Parkers Prairie.  Both of these teams are very deserving of today’s wins and will be fun teams to watch in the remainder of the postseason.”

Thursday’s games marked the end of the high school careers for B-E seniors Dezmond White, Kian Gackle and Brady Perleberg.  “I’d like to thank our seniors for their years of commitment to our program.  It goes without saying that I will truly miss these young men next season and have so many memories thanks to these fine young men.  I wish them the best of luck in their future endeavors.”
