Fergus Falls took first place in the South Sub-Section 8AA Boys’ Golf Tournament at Headwaters Golf Club in Park Rapids on Wednesday. Their 318 score was nine better than runner-up, Hawley (327). Third place went to Barnesville with a 334 total. Those three teams will advance to the Section 8AA Championships at Bemidji next Monday and Tuesday.
In addition to the three qualifying teams, the top five individuals not affiliated with any of the three teams, also move on. They are Brayden Glorvigan (76) and Cole Reuter (87) of Perham, Brady Petznick (82) of Pelican Rapids, and Joey Hillukka (79) and Carter Hillukka (83) of United North Central.
The Otters had three players record scores in the 70’s, led by Adam Kennedy with a 77. Gavin Goepferd and Ryan Nelson came in with 79’s. Aiden Swenson had an 83, Riley McGovern an 84 and Charlie Fuder an 89.
