Sophie Cook of Hawley was runner-up with a 78 and her teammate, Ivy Tickel was third with a 79.

Top scorers for Perham with 93’s from Addicyn Zimmerman and Kaia Anderson, and a 99 from Aubry Zimmerman.

Other Fergus Falls scores included an 84 from Annie Mayer, a 103 from Olivia Jurgens, a 107 from Ellie Bergren, a 112 from Shay Katzenmeyer and a 123 from Hanna Bye.

“Absolutely a beautiful day in Park Rapids for the Sub-Section Tournament,” commented Fergus Falls Head Coach Ben Jurgens.  “Annika and Annie really led our team as they have all year long.  Their leadership on and off the course has been a mainstay for the entire season.  Annika won her fourth tournament of the year and Annie continued her solid play with her fourth place finish.  Annika got off to a fast start and maintained her impressive play all day.  Annie was solid from the beginning.  She had one hiccup midway through the round, but didn’t let it bother her.  Olivia and Ellie played most of the round knowing that they would provide the third and fourth score.  Hanna and Shay gained valuable experience playing in their first post season tournament.  We do need to do better from our three through six spots in order to have a real chance at winning the section.  The nice part about this is we have proved we can do it.  We just need to continue to practice and prepare for sections next Monday and Tuesday.  The coaches are very proud of the girls and are excited for next week.  Congratulations to our boys’ golf team who also won the sub-section.”
