Jensen and Zierden Win Events at CLC Championships

The Fergus Falls boys’ track and field team had a strong showing at the Central Lakes Conference Championship meet in Sartell on Tuesday with four individuals and one relay team earning All-Conference honors.  Alexandria finished first in the team competition with 194.5 points.  Brainerd was second with 84, Sartell third with 81.5, Willmar fourth with 76 and Fergus Falls fifth with 72.5 points.

“The team put together an impressive day on the track and in the field,” said Fergus Falls Head Coach Derek Meyer.  “We had some great best performances and other results close to personal bests to sharpen up for next week at the section meet.  I am happy how we competed today and hope we keep up the intensity.”

All-Conference performances came from Alex Jensen with a first place in the discus and a second in the shot put, Shane Zierden with a first place finish in the triple jump and Andrew Muchow with a third in the pole vault.  Jaden Miller placed second in the 800 and third in the 1600, and the 4x800 relay was second with the team of David Ronnevik, Logan Bredeenberg, Tommy Erickson, and Matthew Tuel.

Honorable Mention All-Conference honors went to Matthew Tuel with a fourth in the 3200, Shane Zierden with a fourth in the Long Jump and Layten Drouillard with a sixth in the discus.
