Rothsay Girls End Regular Season with Double Header Sweep of Ada-Borup

The Rothsay softball team won two more games on Friday, beating Ada-Borup 14-8 and 11-4.  “We played well in many aspects of the game tonight,” said Head Coach Anita Heier.  “It was a great way to wrap up the regular season.”

The Tigers jumped out to a 5-1 lead in the first game and scored six runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to secure the win.  Elli Meyer had 3 hits to lead Rothsay at the plate.  Allison Phillips, Madi Tollerud, McKenzie Tillman and Kinsey Heier each had 2 hits.  Katie Reber pitched all 7 innings, allowing 8 runs on 9 hits, striking out 9 batters and walking 2.

In game two, Rothsay led 3-2 entering the third inning and then scored 6 runs to open up a 9-2 advantage.  Meyer, Tollerud and Phillips each had a hit.  Bethany Danielson pitched all 5 innings, allowing 4 runs on 5 hits, walking 4 and fanning 2 batters.
