The Hillcrest Track and Field team traveled to Wheaton for the Little 8 Conference Meet Tuesday. Gabe Swedenberg led the way with two first place finishes in the 200 (24.15) and the 400(53.82). Matthew Knutson had a great meet placing in all three of his events (1600 1st 5:02.1; (Discus 3rd 102-4.5 and long jump 2nd 19-3.25 PR).
Other top finishers for the Comets were Drew Fischer (400 5th place) and the 4x200 relay team of EJ Cho, Owen Nilsen, Caleb Holm and Xander Brown finishing 4th.
On the girls’ side, Judit Moller placed in all four of her events (1600 1st 5:36; 800 2nd 2:30.97; 4x400 2nd 4:39 and long jump 4th 13.85). Liv Liseth and Elsa Retzlaff placed in all three of their events (Liv: 3200 1st 13:25; 300 Hurdles 4th 57.55 and 100 Hurdles 21.25); (Elsa: 4x400 2nd, 800 3rd 2:41, and 100 5th 14.67). Other top finishers for the girls were Marie-Elise Oy (1600 2nd and 3200 3rd); and Emme Berge (4x200 2nd, 400 4th); and Chloe Walkup (4x400 2nd and shot put 6th).
The girls finished 4th out of five teams and the boys placed 5th. Overall we had 18 PR’s at the meet. The next event for the Comets is May 25th at the Sub-Section Meet held in Barnesville.
