Katie Reber (7IP, 3R, 9H, 0BB, 4K) pitched all 7 innings on Tuesday, leading the Rothsay softball team to a 4-3 victory over Barnesville.  “This was a big win for our program,” commented Rothsay Head Coach Anita Heier.  “Our defense made some nice plays tonight, and offensively we came through with some big hits with runners in scoring position.”

Barnesville scored one run in the top of the first and one in the second to take a 2-0 lead.  The Tigers tied the game with a pair of runs in the bottom of the third inning.  With the bases loaded and two outs, Allison Phillips and Madison Tillman each drove in a run with a single.  Barnesville regained the lead with a run in the fifth, but Rothsay scored twice in the bottom of the fifth when Katie Reber delivered a 2-run single with the bases loaded.

Elli Meyer (2H, SB) and Madison Tillman (2H) were the offensive leaders for Rothsay.

“We continue to grow and learn every night and I couldn’t be more proud of these girls for continuing to work hard and have fun,” concluded Coach Heier.

No Barnesville stats were reported.
