The Fergus Falls boys’ track and field team traveled to Wahpeton on Monday to compete in the Last Chance meet.  The Otters placed second, just two points behind Wahpeton.  “The weather was warm and the track was fast,” said Fergus Falls Head Coach Derek Meyer.  “We had several personal best and breakout performances in several events.  We were light on the roster with another school event happening, but made the best out of it.”

Alex Jensen won the shot put and was second in the discus, Jaden Miller won both the 1600 and 3200 meter races, Shane Zierden was the triple jump champion, and Andrew Muchow placed second in the pole vault.

“Alex continues to put out top marks and will look to improve going into the final stretch of the season,” stated Coach Meyer.  “Jaden had great races today.  I was pleased with his race strategy and his overall performance in all of his races.  Shane had a huge first jump that put u his personal best and one of the top jump sin the state, and Andrew has been steadily improving each meet.  He will look to be competitive in the championship meets next week.”

The Otters have a busy week with a second meet, the OTC Invite, coming Friday afternoon in Battle Lake.
