Little Eight Conference All-Star Basketball Events Scheduled for Sunday at Hillcrest

Once again this year Hillcrest Lutheran Academy will host the Little Eight Conference All-Star Basketball events on Sunday, April 16.  The girls’ all-star game will begin at 4:00pm with a 3-point shooting contest before the boys’ all-star event which will start around 5:45pm.

Little Eight Girls’ Coach of the Year, Brian Hovland of Underwood, will be coaching a North team consisting of Mo Bugbee, Mia Blaskowski and Zoey Swanson of the Rockets, Morgan Malone and Ally Goodman of Battle Lake, Maddie Ballweg, Elizabeth Olstad, and Madi Foss of Hillcrest, and Madison Tillman of Rothsay.

The South will be coached by Levi Schultz of Wheaton/Herman-Norcross.  His team will consist of Sydney Schaefer of Brandon-Evansville, Brylie Schultz and Megyn Kelly of the Warriors, Jessica Moberg, Abby Sigler and Mataya Gibson of Clinton-Graceville-Beardsley, and Cora Johnson, Avery Benzinger and Kad Wehking of Parkers Prairie.

The boys’ game will feature a mixture of players from throughout the Little Eight Conference on both teams.  LEC Coach of the Year, Jordon Roos, will be heading up a team consisting of Brodie Ecker of Ashby, Jackson Koehl of Hancock, Dezmond White of Brandon-Evansville, Justin Petersen of Hillcrest, Ben Harrington of Parkers Prairie, and Clint Determan and Cole Gilsdorf of Border West.

Opposing Coach Roos and his all-star team will be Coach Brady Cameron of Battle Lake.  Dylan Bainbridge and Andrew Walker of Border West will anchor his team, along with Cole Peterson of Underwood, Brady Perleberg of Brandon-Evansville, Owen Buehler of Battle Lake, Mason Arens of Parkers Prairie, and Jared Koehl of Hancock.

“This should be a great night to celebrate these student-athletes, their families and our communities,” said Hillcrest Head Boys’ Basketball Coach and Activities Director, Ryan Garvin.
