Top-seeded Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa advanced to the South Sub-Section championship game with a 58-42 win over Hancock on Monday night at Minnewaska Area High School in Glenwood. BBE led 27-23 at halftime and outscored the Owls 31-19 over the final 18 minutes to 24-4 and run their winning streak to 7 games.
Three Jaguars reached double figures, led by Kaden Pieper with 20. Luke Dingmann and Brady Schwinghammer had 13 points apiece. BBE went 17-for-22 on the free throw line and won the rebounding battle, 35-23.
Jackson Koehl (15 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists) and Chase Evink (13 points, 7 rebounds, 2 steals) led Hancock. The Owls went cold from beyond the arc, making only 1-of-21 3’s in the game.
Hancock ends their season with a record of 13-14.
BBE will face Border West on Wednesday at 7:00pm in Glenwood.
