The Battle Lake boys' basketball team kept their impressive offensive run going on Monday night when they put 91 points on the scoreboard in Pelican Rapids in their 91-57 victory over Norman County East/Ulen-Hitterdal to advance to the North Sub-Section 6A championship game against the Henning Hornets.

Jack Mekalson led all scorers with 30 points, 21 of them coming in the first half as the Battlers posted a 58-31 halftime advantage.  Mekalson also had 5 rebounds, 7 assists and 3 steals.  Owen Buehler had 18 of his 23 points in the first half, while adding 6 steals, 5 assists and 3 boards, and Drew Johnson hit 5 3's on his way to a 17 point performance.  Bradyn Roisum was also in double digits with 13 points on 6-of-9 shooting.  He also had 8 rebounds and 3 blocked shots.

"Congrats to NCE-U/H on a great season,” said Head Coach Brady Cameron of Battle Lake.  “Before this game I watched a lot of film on them and got to see them live last Thursday, they are a well-coached team and play extremely hard, we just shot the ball really well tonight against them.  We shot 60% on the night, 36/60, and 58% from 3, 11/19.  When we shoot like that we are hard to guard because it's not just one guy scoring and making shots, it's the whole team.  One negative on the night was our lack of ball security and 20 turnovers.  That's something we need to clean up before we play Henning on Wednesday.  Mason Dalluge (4 points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists, 3 steals, 2 blocks) had another phenomenal night holding one of their best scorers to 4 points along with stuffing the stat sheet once again."

Wyatt Crompton and Cole Bentley each scored 19 to pace the Titans.  Norman County East/Ulen-Hitterdal ended their season with a record of 9-16.

Battle Lake takes a 24-4 record and an 8 game winning streak into their Wednesday night matchup with Henning.  The game will be at 7:00pm at the Kennedy Secondary School in Fergus Falls.
