Junior Lyvia Misegades reached 1000 career points on Saturday at ‘The Hive’ in Perham as the Henning girls’ basketball team advanced to the Section 6A semifinals with a 67-57 victory over the Breckenridge Cowgirls. Misegades finished with 23 points on the day. Faith Fisher scored a game high 29 points to lead the Hornets.
Henning led 37-29 at the half and built the lead to 13 at one point before settling for the 10 point win. Henning improved to 26-2 with the victory.
Breckenridge ends their season with a 17-9 record. Parker Yaggie led the Cowgirls with 18 points and Johnica Bernotas had 11. Sydney Roberts chipped in with 9.
Henning will now face Underwood at 7:00pm Tuesday in Perham for the North sub-section title and a berth in the Section 6A championship game on Friday night in Fergus Falls.
