Freshman Matthew Tuel of the Fergus Falls boys’ swimming and diving team has qualified for the consolation finals in the 500 freestyle at the Class A Swimming and Diving championships at the University of Minnesota Aquatic Center.  Tuel was sixteenth in the prelims with a time of 5:11.16.

“Congratulations to Matthew,” said Fergus Falls Head Coach Randy Hansen. “At this meet is it so difficult to drop time and advance.  Matthew swam a smart race and is in a good position to drop more time tomorrow.  Also congratulations to Micah Zosel and Christian Reed who finished their high school swim career today.  They will certainly be missed next year.”

Tuel didn’t qualify in the 200 freestyle as he was 21st (1:54.99).  Jaden Kwapinski failed to advance in the 200 IM (2:11.96), taking 22nd place.  Micah Zosel was 23rd in the 100 breaststroke (1:06.68).  The Otters were 22nd in the 400 freestyle relay (3:33.24).
