Rocket Girls Move on in 6A as Bugbee Reaches 1000 Career Points

Mo Bugbee had a game high 21 points and scored her 1,000 career point on the 21st point with ten minutes to go in the second half, leading the Underwood girls’ basketball team to a 68-34 win over Norman County East/Ulen-Hitterdal in the Section 6A girls’ basketball playoffs on Thursday night.  The Rockets led 34-14 at halftime.

“Mo had a very nice game, going 9-for-12 from the field and finishing with 8 assists and 5 rebounds,” said Underwood Head Coach Brian Hovland.  “I am super proud of her, she deserves this recognition.”

Mia Blaskowski scored 13 points and had 6 rebounds, Liz Lukken added 9 points, Kallyn Grove finished with 7 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists, and Zoey Swanson contributed 7 points and 7 rebounds.

New York Mills defeated Park Christian 37-31 and will now face Underwood on Saturday at 1:00pm in a Section 6A quarterfinal round contest at ‘The Hive’ in Perham.
