Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton hosted Hawley in a Heart O’ Lakes Conference boys’ basketball game on Tuesday night.  The Rebels got off to a fast start and didn’t slow down all night as they raced to an 87-66 victory over the Nuggets.

“Our boys got off to a rocky start tonight,” said Hawley Head Coach Nate Stoa. “We lacked the energy needed to go into a tough venue and come out on top. To our kids’ credit, they continued to battle all night. We were able to get some deflections and cause loose balls, unfortunately many of them ended up in DGF’s hands. They’re a good team and they were able to take advantage of those extra chances.”

DGF was led by Owen Leach with 39 points and Drew Sheeley with 23.

Brevin Stoa led Hawley with 28 points and Sam Senske scored 20.  Mason Gratton chipped in with 14.

“Sam Senske needs to get special recognition tonight as he was able to meet the 1,000 career point milestone,” added Coach Stoa. “He’s a very talented basketball player and a very hard worker, and we’re very happy for him and his accomplishment.”

DGF (18-6, 11-1 HOL) will play at Wadena-Deer Creek on Friday.

Hawley (14-7, 7-4 HOL) travels to Perham for a Friday night HOL contest.
