Claire Stark (26 points, 13 rebounds) and Addison Staples (14 points, 14 rebounds) each registered a double-double on Tuesday night as the West Central Area lady Knights hosted Sauk Centre in a high school girls’ basketball contest in Barrett. Despite the two double-doubles, WCA came up short in a 75-69 loss to the Mainstreeters.
Jayden Styba added 12 points and 7 rebounds, and Mya Foslien was also in double figures with 12 points. The lady Knights had 24 assists on 29 made baskets, led by 6 assists apiece from Macy Grosz, Styba and Foslien.
Sauk Centre was led by Jenna Gapinski-Vogt (26 points, 14 rebounds), Cierra Kortan (26 points, 7 assists, 4 rebounds), Tony Kerfeld (11 points, 3 steals) and Heidi Lieser (12 rebounds, 5 points).
West Central Area (7-10) will play at Osakis on Thursday night and will entertain Morris on Friday.
