Barnesville built a 42-18 halftime lead over Menahga on Tuesday night and went on to register a 71-45 victory.  The Trojans made 39% (30-76) of their field goal attempts and held Menahga to 32% (14-43) shooting.

“Had Menahga in town tonight going back-to-back after traveling to Wadena last night,” reported Head Coach Matt Askegaard of the Trojans. “We really had to bring the energy tonight after playing last night and with the girls being on the road, there wasn't much of an atmosphere. However, the game will go on and we must play on.  Offensively, we moved and shared the ball a great deal. We had been working on some things offensively the past few days and we were able to get some live work on them tonight. We are beginning to get a good understanding of valuing every possession to get a good shot and in rhythm. We are still making a few silly passes at times which we will correct. But, overall we were very efficient.  Same goes for the defense. We tweaked some things and made some changes in our matchup zone and were able to work on those tonight as well. We are still not where we need to be defensively as we get to shooters with a hand down at times and still have been allowing too much penetration to the paint.”

Gannon Bolgrean (15 points, 4 assists, 6 rebounds, 3 steals), Owen Riddle (13 points, 5 rebounds, 3 steals) and Tate Inniger (10 points, 9 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals) were all in double digits for Barnesville.  Zach Bredman and Braeden Bredman added 8 and 7 points, respectively, while Isaac Maneval finished with 6 points, 7 rebounds and 2 blocked shots.  Aaron Baker had a team high 5 steals.

The win gets the Trojans to 10-5 overall and 2-4 in conference play. They head to DGF Friday night.

No Menahga stats were reported.
