Fergus Falls put 42 shots on the Willmar net Monday night, while allowing 25 Cardinal shots on goal.  The Otters scored two first period goals and went on to blank Willmar 4-0 as Ben Swanson stopped everything the Cardinals threw at him.

Shane Zierden’s short-handed goal in the first period was setup by Brayden Nelson and Kellen Stenstrom.  Stenstrom added an even strength goal with an assist from Zierden, enabling the Otters to take a 2-0 lead after one period of play.

Nelson notched a second period goal from Michael Schmidt and the Otters led 3-0.  Leighton Buckmeier scored from Colin Becker and Stenstrom to round out the scoring.

Fergus Falls (11-7, 4-5 CLC) will play at home against Willmar in a rematch on Tuesday and will host Wadena-Deer Creek on Saturday.
