The Hillcrest girls’ basketball team controlled their game with Ashby from start to finish on Thursday night, beating the Arrows 74-25. “We shot the ball really well tonight,” said Hillcrest Head Coach Hannah Clark. “The girls played unselfish basketball and did a nice job moving the ball around on the offensive end. We rebounded well on both ends of the floor and that led to some good looks at the basket.”

Ella Knutson registered a double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds.  Maddie Ballweg (17 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists), Elsa Retzlaff (14 points) and Lizzy Olstad (10 points, 4 assists) were all in double figures.  Ruby Peterson contributed 8 points and 6 steals, Madi Foss had 9 rebounds and 4 assists, and Stella Moline chipped in with 5 points.

Brookelinn Finkelson led Ashby with 11 points.

Hillcrest (12-6, 7-4 LEC) will play a road game at Wheaton/Herman-Norcross on Tuesday.

Ashby will host Hancock on Tuesday night.
