The Underwood girls’ basketball team turned in a solid performance on Thursday night as they won their Little Eight Conference battle with Rothsay, 55-29.  The Rockets led the Tigers 34-17 at halftime.

“We did a very good job of controlling the ball on a cold shooting night,” said Underwood Head Coach Brian Hovland.  “We finished the game with five turnovers and rebounded the ball really well.  The girls are playing some tough defense right now and on nights when the ball doesn’t fall it can make a huge difference.”

Kallyn Grove (12 points, 6 rebounds), Liz Lukken (11 points, 3 assists, 3 steals), Mo Bugbee (10 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals) and Zoey Swanson (9 points, 6 rebounds) led the Rockets.  Mia Blaskowski contributed 7 rebounds and 4 assists and Alayna Evavold chipped in with 6 points.

Underwood (14-3, 10-1 LEC) will host Parkers Prairie on Tuesday night.

Rothsay (11-7, 6-5 LEC) has a road game against Clinton-Graceville-Beardsley on Friday night.
