Battle Lake hosted Frazee in a non-conference boys’ basketball matchup on Tuesday and the Battlers placed five players in double figures on the way to a convincing 89-52 win over the Hornets.

Jack Mekalson led the way with 20 points, making 5-of-9 3’s, dishing out 8 assists and grabbing 4 rebounds.  Mason Dalluge just missed a double-double with 15 points and 9 rebounds, while adding 5 assists and a blocked shot.  Drew Johnson connected on 5-of-8 3-pointers, finishing with 15 points.  He also just missed a double-double, snaring 9 rebounds.  Owen Buehler (10 points, 3 rebounds, 5 assists) and Bradyn Roisum (10 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists) also scored in double figures.  Jacob Radermacher contributed 7 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists.

"We played another solid game tonight,” assessed Battle Lake Head Coach Brady Cameron. “I wasn't super pleased with our defensive effort in the 1st half but we talked through some things at halftime and came out with a much better effort in the 2nd half allowing only 22 points and holding them to 8/33 from the field.  We shot the ball extremely well again tonight going 35/64 from the field for 55% and shooting 15/24 from the 3-pt line for 63%.  Again we shared the ball extremely well tonight assisting on 27 of our 35 made field goals.  When we share the ball and defend like we did tonight we are a tough team to beat.  We still need to rebound better on the defensive end, we can't give up 18 offensive boards against the top tier teams in the section and conference and expect to win.  Overall though we played well tonight and are ready to get after it again on Friday against Parkers Prairie."

Battle Lake takes a 12-3 overall record into their matchup with the Panthers.  The Battlers have won six games in a row and are now 6-1 in the Little Eight Conference.

Frazee (3-8) will host Pelican Rapids in a HOL game on Thursday and will entertain New York Mills in a non-conference game on Saturday.  No stats were reported by Frazee.
