Liz Lukken scored 31 points to lead three players in double figures on Tuesday night as the Underwood girls’ basketball team recorded a 69-55 road win over Wheaton/Herman-Norcross in a Little Eight Conference matchup.

Lukken added 6 steals and 4 rebounds.  Kallyn Grove (12 points, 7 rebounds, 8 assists, 7 steals) and Zoey Swanson (11 points, 7 rebounds) were also in double digits.  Mo Bugbee contributed 9 points, 7 steals and 4 assists, and Mia Blaskowski had 6 points and 7 rebounds.

“We got off to a good start, but then stalled out offensively,” reported Underwood Head Coach Brian Hovland.  “We got in a run on the offensive end in the first half and lost our mojo.  In the second half, we did a much better job of working the ball and taking good looks.  As a team we emphasized rebounding and the girls responded by only allowing them 4 offensive boards.  Liz had a career high 31 points and Kallyn had a great all-around game.  Mo did a nice job defensively, guarding their best perimeter player.  Zoey and Mia rebounded and executed a great defensive game.”

Underwood (13-3, 9-1 LEC) will host Rothsay on Thursday night.

Wheaton/Herman-Norcross (7-7, 5-4 LEC) is at Parkers Prairie on Thursday.
