The Fergus Falls girls’ hockey team hosted East Grand Forks on Friday night and the Otters won the game 2-1, putting 32 shots on the Greenwave net.  Fergus Falls Goalie Ana Jyrkas stopped 14 shots on goal.

Vanessa Vaughn got the Otters on the board at 15:05 of the opening period with assists from MacKenzie Sjolie and Rylynn Krein.  A shorthanded goal by Hannah Johnson at 11:40 of the second period gave the Otters a 2-0 lead.  The goal was assisted by Maddie Hulter and Ella StarzlBlake Schultz scored the lone East Grand Forks goal at 7:45 of the second period.  An assist went to Maggey Plante.

“Well, we won, so that’s good,” said Head Coach Tim Lill of the Otters.  “We couldn’t get anything going tonight.  Our third line was our best and Vaughn got paid by her liney’s.  That was a good one!”

Fergus Falls (17-4-1) has a ten game unbeaten streak heading into their next game on Tuesday in Sauk Rapids.
