Border West led 56-26 at halftime and went on to post an impressive 80-44 victory over Rothsay in a Little Eight Conference boys’ basketball game on Thursday night. The Buccaneers shot 56% (34-61) from the field and made 43% (6-14) of their 3-point shots. They also held a 37-22 advantage on the boards.
Border West scored 32 points off 22 Rothsay turnovers and assisted on 25 of their 34 baskets. The Buccaneers were led by Clint Determan (18 points, 9 rebounds, 2 steals), Cole Gilsdorf (14 points, 2 assists, 3 steals, 2 blocks) and Dylan Bainbridge (13 points, 3 assists, 2 steals).
Rothsay made 33% (14-42) of their field goal attempts.
The Tigers will host Battle Lake in their next game on Monday night.
Border West (9-2, 7-0 LEC) is home to Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg on Saturday afternoon in Wheaton.
