For the second consecutive game the Ashby Arrows had four players reach double figure scoring as they defeated Brandon-Evansville, 64-57.  Jake Norby led the way with 19 points.  Easton Nelson (who returned to action for the first time in more than a month) and Kellen Dahlen each contributed 13.  Richie Johnson added 11.

Ashby shot 49% (22/45) from the field and 80% (16/20) from the free throw line.  The Arrows grabbed 20 rebounds and committed a season low 9 turnovers.

“Our defense in the second half was active and connected,” said Ashby Head Coach John Holsten.  “Five different players each converted two free throws down the stretch to seal the victory.”

With the win the Arrows halt a four-game losing streak.  They improve their overall record to 3-5 and 2-4 in the Little Eight Conference.  They travel to Parkers Prairie Thursday for a conference game with the Panthers.

Brandon-Evansville was led by 13 points apiece from Micah Fuller and Riley Perleberg and 10 points from Dezmond WhiteCarter White and Lucas Fuller added 8 and 7 points, respectively.

“Ashby played really hard tonight and earned the win,” said Brandon-Evansville Head Coach Trent Hintermeister.  “We played well in spurts, but didn’t put an entire game together.”

Brandon-Evansville will try to end a five game losing streak when they host Hancock on Thursday night.
