Mason Hammer scored 33 points on 12-of-19 shooting, including 4-of-6 on 3’s, leading the Henning Hornets past Wadena-Deer Creek by the score of 55-44 on Thursday night in Wadena.  Hammer added 5 rebounds and a pair of blocked shots.  The Hornets shot just 34% (18-55) on the night.

“We’ll take a win any day of the week, especially in conference,” commented Henning Head Coach Randy Misegades. “But, we really struggled to find any flow on the offensive end of the floor. We’re doing a poor job moving the ball and getting everyone involved. We are playing way too much one on one basketball. Our guys need to get back to playing as a group on both ends. WDC has some nice athletes and they played hard tonight. I give them a lot of credit for making things tough on us at times.”

Kale Misegades dished out 6 assists and pulled down 7 boards, and Tyson Misegades had 4 assists, to go along with 6 rebounds.  Lane Dilly secured 13 rebounds and had 5 points.

Teshe Loer and Kobe Snyder led the Wolverines with 9 points each.  Nate Peterson added 8 points for WDC.

Henning (8-0) will host Brandon-Evansville on Saturday afternoon in Evansville.

Wadena-Deer Creek (4-3) has a Tuesday home game against Menahga.
