The Breckenridge-Wahpeton Blades girls’ hockey team earned their first win of the season on Tuesday night as they outshot Detroit Lakes 68-5 and shutout the Lakers 9-0. Kolle Schuler was in goal for the Blades and Reagan Wohlers netted a hat trick, while assisting on another goal.
Breck-Wahp took a 3-0 lead after one period as Alison Hoerer scored a power play goal 2:42 into the game with assists from Wohlers and Kennedy Schuler, Holly Ovsak scored at 5:30 from Anebel Pausch and Britta Pausch, and Wohlers tallied an unassisted goal at 8:36.
Wohlers second goal of the game came at 10:07 of the second period, assisted by Anabel Pausch. It was followed by Ovsak’s second of the night, setup by Hoerer and Karsyn Neppl at 13:34. 23 seconds later Addie Rugland scored an unassisted goal for a 6-0 Breck-Wahp lead after two.
Britta Pausch made it 7-0 at the two-minute mark of the third period with Hoerer assisting. Wohlers completed her hat trick with assists from Ivy Ovsak and Rugland at 7:17, and the final tally of the night came from Neppl at 8:05 of the period, assisted by Ashlyn Wohlers.
