Lady Spartans Shoot Just 18% in Road Loss to 11th Ranked Pioneers

The M State lady Spartans shot just 18% (9-50) from the field and made only 1-of-22 3’s on Tuesday night as they fell to the Northland lady Pioneers 70-28 on Tuesday night in Thief River Falls.  The win completed a sweep of M State by Northland this season.

 

Emily Dehler had a big rebounding night, grabbing 17 boards, including 8 offensive rebounds, to go along with her 8 points, 2 steals and one assist.  M State won the battle of the boards 46-39.  Itzel Salazar had a team high 9 points and Lindsey Kurz contributed 6 points.

The Pioneers were led by Emma Osborn with 19 points and Shavonda Bender with 10 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists.  Riley Mooney added 8 points, 7 boards and 3 assists.  Northland is currently ranked 11th in the nation in NJCAA Division III Womens Basketball.

M State (1-2) will travel to Grand Rapids next Tuesday to face Itasca Community College.
