Nagel Scores 3 Times to Lead Frazee Past Underwood

Jake Nagel ran for 136 yards and 3 touchdowns to lead the Frazee Hornets to a 43-0 victory over the Underwood Rockets on Friday night in Underwood.  The Hornets finished with 342 total yards, 283 on the ground, and held Underwood to 116 total yards in the contest.

Nagel started the scoring with 5:58 left in the first quarter when he carried the ball into the end zone from 13 yards out for a 6-0 Frazee lead.

In the second quarter, Brady Crabtree broke free for a 69 yard touchdown run and the two-point conversion run by Carter Sonnenberg put the score at 14-0.  Hunter Haugen then blocked a punt and Roy Hoehne recovered the ball for a score.  Nagel’s two-point conversion run put Frazee ahead 22-0 at halftime.

Nagel scored on runs of 44 and 4 yards in the third quarter with Sonnenberg kicking an extra point after his first score and Carson Maneval running the ball in for the two-point conversion after the second Nagel TD.  The Hornets led 37-0 after three quarters.

Jack Graham scored the final touchdown of the night with five minutes left in the game, scoring from 9 yards out to put the final score at 43-0.

Carter Sonnenberg completed 4-of-7 passes for 59 yards and Hoehne was the leading receiver for the Hornets with 36 yards on one reception.  Zachary Longfors was the leading tackler for Frazee with 10, including the only sack of the night.  Nagel had an interception.

For Underwood, Conner Thompson and Kale Rich combined for a sack, Brock Hasling had 7.5 tackles and Owen Harig recorded 7 tackles.  Noah Link was 3-for-8 throwing the football for 14 yards.  Jack Parker caught two passes for 7 yards and Owen Harig led the running game with 41 yards on 13 carries.

Underwood (0-5) will host Parkers Prairie on Friday night, while Frazee (3-2) travels to Thief River Falls for a 6:00pm kickoff.
