Pelican Rapids was victorious in their homecoming football game on Friday night as they posted an impressive 40-6 win over previously unbeaten Ottertail Central.  Both teams are now 4-1 on the season.

Pelican Rapids scored a first quarter touchdown on a 7 yard run by Carter Johnson and Timmy Guler added the two-point conversion run for an 8-0 lead for the Vikings.

Justin Jacobson stripped the ball, scooped it up and rambled 58 yards for the second TD of the night and a 14-0 Viking lead.  Bricker Bladow got OTC on the board with a 7 yard run and Guler then connected with Peyton Blakeway on a 49 yard scoring toss to give the home team a 20-6 halftime advantage.

A pair of Guler TD runs covering 20 and 32 yards increased the Pelican Rapids lead to 32-6 after three quarters.

Johnson finished off the scoring with a 3 yard run in the fourth quarter and Guler connected with Luke Sjolie on the two-point conversion pass to put the final score at 40-6.

The Vikings will play at Park Rapids next Friday and OTC is at Staples-Motley.
