12U Crop Dusters Win Two in Apple Valley

The 12u Minnesota Crop Dusters went 2-0 on Saturday in Apple Valley. They beat Pine Tar Red 13-1 and dusted the 507 Blizzard 10-0. The Crop Dusters earned the #1 seed in the Minnesota Blizzard tournament going into bracket play.

In game one, the Dusters ran away with the game in the top of the first scoring 9 runs. In the inning, Dexter Felstul and Grady Shebeck singled and scored and Easton Misegades singled and scored. In the second, Felstul doubled and went to third on Shebeck’s single. Felstul scored on a Misegades ground out. The Crop Dusters received some key defensive plays from Logan Olson, son of head coach Aaron Olson, former Fergus Falls baseball all-star.

Against the 507 Blizzard, Misegades started the Crop Duster rally in the bottom of the third by singling and coming around to score. Shebeck laid down a beautiful bunt in the third for a single. Misegades came in to pitch in the 4th, and shut the Blizzard in the 4th and 5th on 16 pitches in 2 innings. In the bottom of the 4th, Olson lead off by getting hit by a pitch and coming around to score. Felstul singled in a run in the inning as well. In the bottom of the 5th, Misegades singled and came around to score.

The Crop Dusters are coached by Aaron Olson, Kellen Shebeck, and Chad Felstul.

Bench coach Kellen Shebeck, reached for comment after the games, said: “The Crop Dusters really came together in these two games. I am proud of how they played, considering they haven’t practiced together.”

The Crop Dusters play Sunday at 11:15 against the Hit Dawg.
