“Lots of positions to fill and we look forward to all of our returning players competing for varsity minutes and making our team the best it can be,” stated Coach Wood, now in his fifth season as WCA/A Head Football Coach.

Returning starters include senior Anthony Sykora (RB/DB), the District Running Back of the Year last season in the Midwest White.  Seniors Beau Robinson (OL/NG), Cole Anderson (TE/DB), Damon Sanstead (OL/DL), Isaac Kreft (OL/DL), Tyler Stone (OL/DL) and Nas Dotts (RB/LB).  Sykora, Anderson, Sanstead, Kreft and senior Parker Stach (WR/DB) will serve as captains of the Knights.

Players vying for varsity starting spots and playing time include seniors Blake Flint (OL/DL), Brett Amundson (OL/DL), Justin Blascyk (OL/DL) and Quinten Winter (RB/DB), juniors Adam Lohse (RB/DB), Ben Nyreen (OL/DL), Brady Lindquist (QB/LB), Cam Anderson (WR/DB), Fred Schlotfeld (WR/DB), Grant Lindquist (OL/DL), Jackson Nadgwick (OL/DL), Jake Norby (OL/DL), Will Rustan (OL/DL), Robbie Redearth (RB/DB) and Carter Dallencach (WR/DB), and sophomores Ben Bye (WR/LB), Cash Nelson (WR/LB), Gavin Flint (OL/DL), Hunter Gruchow (RB/LB), Jeremy Blascyk (OL/DL), Owen Sanstead (OL/DL), Sam Hansen (QB/LB), Tucker McGee (RB/DB), Tyler Girard (RB/LB) and Zach Fick (OL/DL).

“The 2022 version of the Knights football team is a team hungry for success,” said Coach Wood.  “These players have worked extremely hard in the off season and demonstrate maturity and enthusiasm.  Section 6AA looks to be competitive, with Osakis and Sauk Centre poised for success.  In the Midwest White District the top teams are Barnesville and Osakis.”

Andy Peterson, Peter Nelson, Dave Stone, Kevin McNamara and Todd Hendricks will serve as assistant coaches.
