Chaffee, Missouri won a back-and-forth battle with the Ottertail Central 15U Babe Ruth baseball team on Sunday, posting an 11-9 victory at the Midwest Regional Babe Ruth Tournament in Rapid City, South Dakota.  The lead changed hands seven times in this game.

Chaffee trailed 9-8 in the top of the seventh inning when Ross Peters singled on a 3-2 count, driving in the tying and go-ahead runs.  Chaffee added another run to put the final at 11-9.  Peters (2IP, 3H, 2K, 1BB, 1R) was the winning pitcher.

Gavin Pausch (3IP, 6H, 5R, 1BB) took the loss in relief of Drew Evavold (4IP, 6R, 8H, 1BB).

Conner Thompson (4-4, 2B, RBI, R) led the 12-hit attack for OTC.  Owen Harig (3-5, 2R) and Kaleb Hammes (2-4, 2B, RBI, R) also had multiple hits in the game.  Kale Misegades went 1-for-2 at the plate with a double, drove in a run and scored twice.

"I am extremely proud of the way these guys not only played, but more importantly represented themselves in Rapid City this weekend," stated OTC Head Coach Evan Meece.  "We played with heart and battled all the way to the last pitch every game.  The final out didn't go our way, but both on and off the field, these guys represented not only the communities of OTC, but the state of Minnesota in great fashion.  I couldn't be prouder to have coached this team and be able to bring this team to represent OTC and Minnesota at the Regional Tournament."
