The 13 year old Babe Ruth State Tournament kicked off on Thursday, hosted by Ottertail Central; Battle Lake and Henning. Thursday saw 9 games played at the 2 sites as will Friday! "I would like to thank all of our volunteers that make this possible.  Our Parents, Community Members, Coaches, and Players really stepped up.  There is a lot of work in prepping and executing a big tournament like this," commented Coach Ryan Hendrickson of OTC.

The Ottertail Central Dawgs earned a split on their first day of play as they beat Upsala-Swanville Area, USA, but then lost to Perham later in the day.  The Dawgs played a flawless game vs USA. Coach Hendrickson commented "This was the best all-around game we have played yet this year, and that is exactly what you look for in Playoffs.  I am so excited to see the growth out of this year! The complete game we played vs USA was remarkable!" And it was remarkable, the Dawgs were flawless in the field committing zero errors, earned 7 runs on 13 hits, struck out only 3 times while striking out 12 opponents.  The Dawgs were also very crafty on the bases as they stole 8 bases and only gave up 1 stolen base.

Two Ottertail Central 13u Babe Ruth Pitchers teamed up to shutout USA, 7-0.  Dawson Bushman (5IP, 5H, 0R, 8K, 1BB) was the winning pitcher and Max Grove (2IP) earned a save.

Ottertail Central 13u Babe Ruth secured the victory thanks to four runs in the fifth inning. Trinity Baker, Sam Ravenscraft and Beck Thorson each had RBIs in the frame.

Ottertail Central 13u Babe Ruth totaled 13 hits in the game. Grove, Bushman, Mason Hoyt, and Baker each racked up multiple hits for Ottertail Central 13u Babe Ruth. OTC tore up the base paths, as two players stole at least two bases. Hoyt led the way with three.

Ottertail Central 13u Babe Ruth fell behind early in their game with Perham and couldn't come back in an 11-1 loss.

Baker (3IP, 6H, 8R, 1K) led things off on the hill for Ottertail Central. Kaden Schmieg threw three innings out of the bullpen.

Hoyt and Grove each managed one hit to lead Ottertail Central.

Perham racked up 12 hits in the game and stole seven bases.
