Fergus Falls American Legion Post 30 traveled to Bemidji on Friday and lost a pair of games to a strong Bemidji team, 14-1 and 10-6.

Bemidji jumped out to an early lead with seven hits, including two home runs in the first inning of game one.  They cruised from there and were never really threatened.

Evan Lindgren and Owen Krueger each went 1-for-2 at the plate to lead Post 30.  Colin Becker, Andrew Johnson and Ethan Gronwold each pitched at least one inning for Fergus Falls.

Krueger (5.2IP, 7R, 6ER, 6H, 3BB, 3K) started on the bump in game two and Riston Albert and Isaac Johnson came on in relief.  Johnson and Will Gronwold led Post 30 with two hits apiece.

Fergus Falls took a 5-1 lead after one inning thanks to four hits and two Bemidji errors. Bemidji erupted for five runs in the bottom of the sixth to take the lead.  Post 30 put runners on base in the seventh but failed to come up with the clutch hits they needed.

“Today was another tale of two games,” stated Head Coach Trevor Larson. “Bemidji came out hot in the first game and could do nothing wrong. We left a few too many pitches belt high and to their liking. Game two we played with much better energy and played great defense behind Owen. Owen did a great job of giving us quality innings and a chance to win against a very good team. We need to continue to turn in good at bats and continue to make the routine plays in the field to compete with the teams in our district.”

Post 30 is off until Tuesday when they host Wadena at 5 and 7 at Legion Field.
