Perham defeated Fergus Falls twice in American Legion Baseball double header, winning 13-2 and 12-2.

In the opener, Perham took advantage of eight walks by Fergus Falls pitchers, scoring two runs in the first, seven in the third and four in the fourth.  Post 30 scored their only two runs of the first game in the fourth inning.

Leaders for Perham were Austin Aanenson (1-2, 3RBI, 2B), Logan Pulju (2-2, 2RBI, 2R), Ben Shumansky (2-2, 3R) and Blais Schmidt (1-2, 2RBI, R).  Chas Melvin (4IP, 3H, 2R, 2ER, 2BB, 7K) was the winning pitcher and C Poole finished up with one inning of relief.

Fergus Falls was led by Owen Krueger (1-2 2B, 2RBI), Isaac Johnson (1-2, R) and Colin Becker 1-1).  Andrew Johnson and Isaac Johnson each scored a run for Post 30.

Perham jumped on top early with two runs in the bottom of the first courtesy of 3 hits and 1 walk.  Post 30 would score their only runs of the game in their half of the third inning. Isaac Johnson led the inning off with a single to right field, Becker followed with a walk, and Krueger singled sharply to right field to score both runners.

"Give Perham credit, they hit the ball every where," said Fergus Falls Head Coach Trevor Larson. "They did a great job of laying off pitches that were out of the strike zone. They don’t strike out much, and when they do it’s always on a pitch that’s in the zone."

In game two, Perham was led by Pulju (3-4, 2 2B, SB, 2RBI, 2R), A Smith (3-3, 2B, 2RBI, 2R), Schmidt (2-2, 2RBI, R) and Gamble Bye (2-2, 2B, RBI, R).  Pulju (4IP, 6H, 2R, 1ER, 1BB, 3K) was the winning pitcher and Ernie Kovash (1IP, 2BB, 1K) finished up with one inning of relief.

Bergus Falls received a 2-for-2 day at the plate from Isaac Johnson.  Colin Becker, Will Gronwold and Layton Buckmeier each had one hit.  Buckmeier also drove in a run.

Perham stayed hot on offense with 5 runs in the first inning off of 6 hits and no errors. Post 30 showed some signs of life while pushing across 5 runs of their own in the top half of the second inning. Colin Becker led off with a sharp single to right, Will Gronwold singled to center, and Evan Lindgren came up with a clutch two out base bit to score both runners.  It was all Perham after that as they continued to put up runs in bunches.

"Give Perham credit, they stack good at bats one after another," commented Coach Larson. "They put a lot of stress on pitchers and the defense behind them. They very rarely swing at pitches out of the strike zone , and they constantly make good hard contact. Although the scores wouldn’t indicate it, we actually played well defensively today with only 1 error in two games. We will take the weekend off and get back after it next week starting with Monday games at home vs East Grand Forks. "
