The Breckenridge Bucks Amateur Baseball team remained undefeated in Countryside League play with a 15-1 7-inning victory over Pelican Rapids on Wednesday night.

Wes Johnson pitched 6 innings, giving up 3 hits and striking out 9 batters.  Jack Hiedeman pitched the final inning, retiring the side with two strikeouts.  Hiedeman and Jeremy Stack continue with their hot bats as Hiedeman reached base four times with two hits and two walks, scoring two runs.  Stack also had two hits on the evening and scored twice.  Cooper Yaggie added two hits, four runs batted in and two runs scored.

“Overall we did a lot of things right tonight, even our small ball was good,” commented Head Coach Kevin Hiedeman of the Bucks.  “Erik Hiedeman laid down a great sacrifice bunt, we threw a Pelican runner out trying to tag up from second to third.  Jonah Friederichs caught the ball, hit Erik Hiedeman on the relay to Jace Hegge for a perfect tag to retire the runner.  We played good defense and Wes only walked one batter.  We also ran the bases extremely well.  It’s really good baseball and the Bucks are fun to watch when they play like this.”

The Bucks are off until next Wednesday when they play the Hawley Hawks at home at 6:30pm on Cowboy Field.
