New York Mills jumped to a 3-0 lead after two innings of their Class A State Semifinal Baseball game with Randolph on Wednesday afternoon at Joe Faber Field in St. Cloud, however, Randolph scored four times in the bottom of the fifth inning and held on for a 4-3 victory over the Eagles.

Jacob Guck walked and Bren Salo was hit by a pitch to start the first inning.  Both runners moved up on a wild pitch and Guck scored on a ground out off the bat of Jonah Johnson.

The Eagles added to their lead in the second when Breck Hensch singled and took second on a passed ball.  A single by Cody Barthel advanced Hensch to third base.  Hensch and Barthel scored when Montgomery Briard reached on an error.  Guck drove in Barthel with a single to center field.  Two runners were thrown out at the plate in the inning.  The loss went to Johnson (4.1IP, 3H, 4R, 3ER, 5BB, 7K).  Brayden Ehnert (1.2IP, 2K) finished up on the mound.

Jacob Weckop, Tayven Geiger and Collin Otto had the only hits for Randolph.  Weckop, Otto and Mason Lorenzen drove in runs.  Will Baldus (6.1IP, 7H, 3ER, 1BB, 7K) was the winning pitcher and Weckop recorded the final two outs to earn the save.

Randolph will face defending champion Hayfield for the Class A title and New York Mills will battle Sacred Heart in the third place game.
