Aleah Miller Wins State AA 1600 Meter Run Title, Alexandria Takes First in 4x800 Relay

The Class AA Minnesota State High School Track and Field Meet came to a close on Saturday at St. Michael-Albertville High School.  Discus throwers Alex Jensen and Layton Droulliard of Fergus Falls just missed getting on the awards stand as Jensen (139-05) was tenth and Droulliard (136-10) eleventh.  Fergus Falls finished 25th in the boys’ team competition with 18 points and 25th in the girls’ team competition with 12 points.

Alexandria came in sixth in the girls’ team competition with 41 points and the Cardinal boys’ were 21st with 20 points.  The Cardinal girls' received a first place finish from the 4x800 relay team (9:26.31) and Aleah Miller was the 1600 meter run (4:59.57) champion.

St. Peter won the boys’ championship with 44 points, Spectrum was second with 40 and Jordan came in third with 39.

The girls’ team champion is Monticello with 71 points.  Providence Academy was second with 60.  Rockford and Academy of Holy Angels tied for third with 48 points.
