VanErp Wins State Triple Jump Title, Wales Earns 3 Medals

Eden Valley-Watkins/Kimball won the girls’ Class A State Track and Field title with 81 points and Concordia Academy-Roseville was runner-up with 68. Perham came in twelfth with 23.5 points, Ashby/Brandon-Evansville was 23rd with 13, Ottertail Central was 25th with 12, Pillager took 44th place with 5 points, Frazee, United Clay-Becker and Barnesville were in a tie for 50th place with 4 points and DGF was tied for 65th place with one point.

Grace VanErp of Ottertail Central won the Class A State triple jump (37-05.25) title and Lucea Wales of Ashby/Brandon-Evansville earned three medals, placing third in the 300 hurdles (46.58), seventh in the 200 (26.68) and eighth in the long jump (16-06.25).

Perham had a strong showing, led by a second place finish by Gracie Morris in the pole vault (11-00.00).  Natalie Rooney was seventh (9-06.00) in the pole vault and Jaden Hackel placed third (36-07.00) in the triple jump.  Lauryn Rustad was eighth in the 100 hurdles (16.30) and the 4x800 relay team (10:06.07) was ninth.

Frazee had two high jumpers earn medals with Rylee Moore (5-02.00) taking seventh place and Brynn Larson (5-00.00) finishing ninth.

Lexi Bright of West Central Area came in fifth in the 1600 (5:20.83) and Lindsey Rotz of Barnesville was sixth in the 800 (2:19.32).

Jessa Kimman of Pillager claimed fifth place in the 100 hurdles (15.83), Bree Nelson of United Clay-Becker took eighth in the 400 (1:00.87), Faith Rustad of UCB was eighth in the 800 (2:22.31) and Emma Hellerud of DGF finished ninth in the discus (112-04).
