McCleary Wins Two Titles as Perham Places Second at Class A Boys State Track and Field Meet

The Perham boys’ took second place by half a point at the Class A Track and Field Meet on Friday at St. Michael-Albertville High School.  Nova Classical Academy won the team event with 47.5 points and Perham had 47 points.  Minneapolis North Community High School was third with 46 points.  DGF finished ninth with 23, Wadena-Deer creek was 27th with 13, United North Central took 33rd place with 11 points and Pelican Rapids had 6.5 points, good for 45th place.

Perham’s Jacob McCleary won both the 800 (1:55.03) and 1600 (4:21.12). Connor Kostynick placed third in the discus (158-01) and seventh in the shot put (49-02.00).  Bjorn Anderson was ninth in the 3200 (9:47.40).  The Yellowjackets 4x800 relay team (8:19.05) was fourth and the 4x400 relay team (3:29.00) finished fifth.

For Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton Joshua Finseth won the triple jump (46-01.50) and was eighth in the 400 (50.99).  McKale Pierson was fourth in the 300 hurdles (41.27) and eighth in the 110 hurdles (15.76).

Brady Domier of Wadena-Deer Creek placed second in the pole vault (14-06.00) and seventh in the 110 hurdles (15.75).

Nick Haugrud (149-10) of Pelican Rapids placed eighth in the discus and Connor Korvela of United North Central was ninth in the 800 (2:01.08).
