Chatfield scored 3 times in the second inning and didn’t allow a run until the seventh as they held on to defeat Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton 3-1 on Thursday night in their Class AA State Softball semifinal contest at Caswell Park in North Mankato.

A 2-run single by Brittin Ruskell highlighted the 3-run inning for Chatfield.  Alexis Hinckley (2-3, R) and Peyton Berg (2-3) were the top hitters for Chatfield in the game.

Evelyn Moe delivered the only RBI of the game for DGF, knocking in Kaleigh Peterson, who had doubled earlier in the seventh inning, with a sacrifice fly.  Danielle Boyd (2-3) led the Rebels at the plate.

Claire Springer (7IP, 6H, 1R, 0ER, 1BB, 2K) was the winning pitcher and Mallory Leitner (7IP, 7H, 3R, 0ER, 0BB, 3K) took the loss for DGF.

The Rebels (22-5) will now face Maple Lake in the third place game on Friday, while Chatfield plays Proctor for the State AA championship.
