Otter Girls Hold First Round Lead at Section Golf Meet in Bemidji

Fergus Falls holds a seven shot lead after the first round of the Section 8AA Girls Golf Meet.  The Otters shot a team score of 351 and Perham is second with a 358.  Hawley is in third place with a 370, followed by Park Rapids Area at 380, East Grand Forks at 383 and Roseau at 386.

Mallory Belka of Perham is the first day medalist with an impressive round of 74.  Annika Jyrkas of Fergus Falls is in a three-way tie for second with Anna Eckmann and Madysen Maninga of Park Rapids Area as all three girls recorded rounds of 83.

Annie Mayer had a great round of 86 which was huge for our team total,” commented Fergus Falls Head Coach Ben Jurgens.  “Ellia Soydara posted a 90 and Lexi Metcalf shot a very important 92.  Olivia Jurgens had a solid 95 and Ella Mayer fired a 99. We need a full team effort tomorrow in order to give us the best chance to win the section title.”

Other Perham scores included a 92 from Addicyn Zummerman, a 93 from Lexi Kunza, a 99 from Kaia Anderson, a 101 from Aubry Zimmerman and a 118 from LaVonne Irene Lindberg.

Hawley scores included an 84 from Sophie Cook, a 92 from Kailee Kirsch, a 96 from Kensie Larson, a 98 from Ivy Tickel, a 108 from Tallyn Ranstrom and a 121 from Hailey Jelinek.

Alayna Day of United North Central and Livinia Brasel of Barnesville both recorded rounds of 97, while Bella Snobl of Barnesville came in with a 102.  Frazee golfer Alexis Mack had a first round score of 106 and Lexi Badal of Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton shot a 115.
