Alexandria Opens Baseball Post Season with Comeback Win Over DL

The Alexandria baseball team opened post season play with a nail biter at Knute Nelson Field on Tuesday, beating Detroit Lakes, 6-5.  The Cards battled their way back from a 3-0 deficit to take the lead in the bottom of the sixth, however, the Lakers tied the game in the top of the seventh setting the stage for the Cards to walk off the Lakers in the bottom of the seventh.

Jaxon Schoenrock (4.2IP, 4R, 2ER, 6H, 1BB, 8K) got the start on the mound and gave way to Parker Jendro (2.1IP, 1ER, 4H, 2K, 1BB) who got the win.

Alexandria had 9 hits on the night, led by JD Hennen and Lake Hagen with two apiece. 

The Cards will host Sauk Rapids at 5:00pm Thursday in their final home game of the season.
