Tyler Bitzan had all the right stuff on Tuesday for Brandon-Evansville, allowing zero runs on three hits as the Chargers blanked Browerville 2-0 in a Section 6A baseball playoff elimination game in Evansville.  The pitching was strong on both sides as Bitzan struck out nine, while Nate Benning sat down eight and allowed only one hit, a single by Jayden Hoidahl.

“This was a fantastic matchup between two very talented pitchers,” stated B-E Head Coach Brian Perleberg.  “Nate Benning and Tyler Bitzan were extremely tough on hitters and were on top of their games.  We felt going into the game that it was going to be a low scoring affair and was going to be difficult to score runs against Browerville.  They are well coached and are much better than their record shows.  We are just very happy to come out on top of this first round game with the Tigers.”

The Chargers scored their two runs in the bottom of the first on a RBI groundout by Bitzan and a squeeze bunt by Dezmond White.

Brandon-Evansville will face Ashby on Thursday at 2:30pm in Deer Creek.
