Brandon-Evansville scored 26 runs in their two wins over Hancock on Thursday.  The Chargers won 10-2 in the first game of their double header with the Owls and then completed the sweep with a 16-2 five-inning victory in game two.

Game one winner Jayden Hoidahl (7IP, 5H, 0ER, 0BB, 11K) went the distance on the mound.

“We got a dandy starting pitching performance from Jayden,” said Head Coach Brian Perleberg.  “He was dialed in from the start and had good command from start to finish.  This was a very close game most of the way as Hancock turned three double plays early on, but we kept battling and found a way to break through in the sixth.  Back-to-back hits by Tyler Bitzan and Dezmond White were what started the rally, and Lucas Fuller came through with a clutch bunt that helped create the big inning.”

Dezmond White (3-4, 2B, 3RBI, 2R), Carter White (2-4, 2B, 2RBI) and Brady Perleberg (2-4, 2R) were the hitting leaders for the Chargers.

Dezmond White (5IP, 3R, 6H, 1BB, 8K) was effective on the mound and was the beneficiary of the 16 run explosion by Brandon-Evansville in game two.  White (2-2, 2B, RBI), Bitzan (3-4, 2RBI, 2R), Ben Seifert (2-2, RBI, 2R) and Brady Perleberg (2-4, RBI, 2R) led the offensive attack for the Chargers.

“This was really an all-around team effort as seven different starters tallied hits and the defense played error free to back up Dezmond White’s quality pitching performance,” said Coach Perleberg.  “It was a nice way to wrap up the regular season and hopefully we can carry this momentum into the playoffs next Tuesday.”
