Ottertail Central scored 3 runs in the seventh to expand their lead to four runs and then held Breckenridge scoreless in the bottom of the inning to record a 13-9 win over the Cowboys. Drew Evavold (5IP, 11H, 7R, 5ER, 2K, 3BB) got the win and Gavin Pausch (2IP, 2H, 2R, 2ER, 2K, 1BB) earned the save.
"It’s great to see us hitting the ball hard this time of year,” said OTC Head Coach Ryan Hendrickson. “Evavold gave us a great start, Gavin was clutch in relief, and we put good quality at bats together in between. Going into the 7th we were only up 1, so again we put another rally together late in the game, great scrappy baseball!"
OTC had 11 hits in the game, led by Kale Misegades with 4 hits and 4 runs scored. Hunter Haugen was hit by a pitched ball three times in the game.
Cam Nieto went 4-for-5 at the plate to lead Breckenridge.
The Section playoffs will begin on Tuesday with seedings coming out this weekend.
