Perham Collects 14 Hits in 10-4 Win Over Spuds

A five-run fifth inning put Perham in front 7-3 against Moorhead in a non-conference high school baseball game on Wednesday.  The Yellowjackets added a single run in the sixth and two more in the seventh to take a 10-4 victory over the Spuds.  Perham had 14 hits in the contest.

Logan Pulju led the way with a 2-for-3 day at the plate, including a double and two walks.  Pulju drove in two runs and scored twice.  Rian Solberg (2-4, RBI, 2R, BB), Chas Melvin (2-4, RBI, R), Gage Germolus (2-4, BB) and Gamble Bye (2-2, 2BB, RBI, R) also had multiple hit efforts for Perham.

Melvin (5IP, 6H, 4ER, 3K, 2BB) was the winning pitcher and Blaiz Schmidt pitched two scoreless innings of relief.

The Spuds were led by Wyatt Tweet (3-4, 2B, RBI, R) and Brett Letness (2-4, RBI).

Perham has won 19 of 20 games this season.
